Palazzo Fogaccia
Built at the behest of Count Vittorio Maria Fogaccia, it was designed in 1692 by Architect Giovanni Battista Quadrio from Milan, the same architect who designed the Fabbrica del Duomo in Milan.
The Palazzo Fogaccia was built from 1693 to 1709 by Master Builders Giovanni Maria and Antonio Trizzini from Lugano, under the technical direction of Architect Lorenzo Bettera from Bergamo.
The imposing building immediately became emblematic of the Fogaccia family’s desire for social and political prominence, in line with their motto of “Ni matarme ni spantarme” (“Neither kill me nor scare me”).
Interestingly, on 23ʳᵈ October 1910, the Ministry of Education declared Palazzo Fogaccia to be a Work of Important Artistic Interest.
