Disciplini oratory and the Triumph of death
The Disciplini Oratory is situated next to the imposing Santa Maria Assunta Basilica. It’s characterized by a cycle of frescoes of great value, painted in 1485 by Giacomo Borlone de Buschis, a Clusonian painter. The Dance of Death and the Triumph of Death represent the meeting between death and life. This fresco is one of the best preserved in Europe.
Curiosity: we can find the Dance of Death in a video game and precisely in the third chapter of The Witcher’s dark fantasy RPG saga Wild Hunt: it appears in a building in The Witcher 3 expansion, Blood and Wine.
Driving directions: once you have parked your car in the spacious parking in S. Marco Road (Piazzale del Sole), walk along this road for a short distance, keeping the left towards the historic center. Continue on Lattanzio Querena Road for about 150 meters and then turn slightly to the left and take the Clock Square. Keep the left and at the beginning of S. Bernardino Road you will find your destination.
