Murales di Joker
“Beauty that has the strength to overcome difficulties can become magnificence.” This is the title of the Joker’s mural on the south façade of the former Angelo Maj building.
The street artist Joker donated a 16-square-metre mural to the Clusone community. The work was created to pay homage to the ValSeriana and its people in view the suffering resulting from the pandemic. The Joker’s intention was to portray ValSeriana as a sweet little girl who has the courage and desire to look to the future with positivity and confidence. The suffering of the past, here imagined as a surgical mask transforming into a butterfly, is left behind. This work is an invitation to grasp the beauties and hopes of this land that we have learnt to rediscover and that can be a point of strength in restarting.
One interesting fact is that the work has been entirely painted with spray cans. This modern technique renders it possible to reproduce intense and expressive faces with chromatic impact through the use of a dynamic pictorial touch.
Directions: From the historical centre, go past the Chiesa del Paradiso to take Via Angelo Maj. Walk along this street until you can admire the mural on the right, at the junction with Piazza Giacomo Manzù. If coming from Viale Gusmini, it is recommended to park in the underground car parks in Piazza Manzù to reach the piazza.
